The Conference will take place at the modern and cosy, recently renovated, three star hotel "Astarea", conveniently located in Mlini (http://www.hotelimlini.hr/), nearby the sea, on the delightful Dubrovnik Riviera, and not far from UNESCO heritage city Dubrovnik. Build on 8 floors with annex and bungalows, offers 369 modern furnished and comfort rooms all with balcony and sea view for business and leisure.
Mlini is a small fishermen's town and resort, situated 10 km from the ancient town centre of Dubrovnik. Its indented coast with many pebble beaches is one of the most beautiful oases of the Dubrovnik Riviera.
The brooks and streams which flow from the nearby sources were once used for water mills; today, the natural fall of waters is used for a small hydro-electric power plant. The upper part of the hamlet (Trgoviste) lies along the main road. In the vicinity of the beach are the parish church of St. Hilarius from 1449 and the chapel of St. Roch (Rocco). Close to the church, on the way toward Cavtat, are the remains of Roman structures. In the western part of the village is the Stay summer mansion with the boat storage ("orsan").
The town can provide accommodation in modern hotels, with high gastronomy, entertainment facilities and cultural events, so that it can satisfy the most demanding guests. It is an ideal spot for a relaxing holiday, because this part of the Croatian coast is rich in lush vegetation which is a result of human efforts. Our guests can relax on well-kept and well equipped beaches, spacious terraces with live music. They can also taste the culinary specialities and enjoy the strolls at the sea.
The city of Dubrovnik, cut in stone below the hill of Srdj, washed by the sea and surrounded by colourful Mediterranean gardens has always been the symbol of the pure beauty of nature combined with human creativity, love of freedom and sense of modesty. Once a powerful tiny state, the beauty of which has always been the challenge and inspiration of artists as well as destination of numerous native and foreign visitors, a Gothic - Renaissance - Baroque city of Dubrovnik is today one of the most significant Croatian and also European cultural heritage.
